ASSURE MODEL (REFLECTION)
The ASSURE model is a
six-step Instructional System Design (ISD) intended to help teacher utilized
technology and media in the classroom. The ASSURE acronym stand for these
important components :
A- Analyse Learners
S - State of Objectives
S - Select Instructional Methods Media and Materials
U - Utilize Media and Materials
R - Require Learners Participation
E - Evaluate and Revise
The
first steps in the the ASSURE model is to Analyze learners to Analyze the
learners you must examine the learners in details. Like most things, without
taking the time in the beginning to examine the learners, nothing you have spread will be effective. Once you have an understanding and reasonable group
for the learners competence at the beginning of the instruction the teacher can
modify to assist the learners in their learning endeavour.
To ASSURE
good learning, I believe it is not one single thing that a teacher or designer
should consider, but I do believe that there are areas of emphasis. First ASSURE
starts with looking at the learners in detail. Nothing you plan or design is
effective unless you have taken the time to look at the learners. I'll
ionisation, for example it is now state the law of the teachers must assess
their students knowledge and skills prior to instruction to ensure.
That means by understanding where the learners are at the start of
instruction, a teacher will make every effort to assist all learners to be successful
in their learning endeavour. This new direction supports my position about knowing
the learners. I feel that knowing as much as possible about your learners is
critical to design and implementation of instruction.
My
final area of importance in the design and implementation process to ASSURE
good learning is the reflection component of evaluation. Once you have
completed the design and instruction and gathered the data about the outcomes
and impressions from your learners you need to take the time to consider what
when well and what could change in the particular Instructional events.
This information will
help you redesign that Instructional event for the future opportunities. But
this information also guides you on how to better address your learners in
instruction. I will close with the idea that is not about the technology and
media. Its about the learners and the important decisions we take as designer's
and instructions to ensure successful learning opportunities.
This ASSURE models whether you
apply it to every lesson that you give to your students. The classroom will
always be set up for small teamwork. It allows the teachers to see if the
students have demonstrated mastery of the content. The option for doing this
depend on how the class was developed. The ASSURE model provides an alternative
approach to the setting of the learning environment of a classroom. Keeping in
mind this component can guide teachers in preparing lessons that are beneficial
to the students.
The
ultimate goal of Instructional Design is make efforts to build a course or
training that
inspires both instructors and learners with unique and valuable
teaching and learning experience. It is necessary in the era of technology
prevalence, one big concern for instructors when planning in improving teaching
and learning is how to integrate technology into education. When presented a
dazzling list of technologies and media's as solutions, most instructors might
have the same reaction. If this ASSURE models will apply in 21st century of
teaching it will help the students and teachers more productive in learning.
